Les Nombres

Les Nombres, the app that teaches you French numbers. Download it from the App Store.

For with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), and iPad. Requires iOS 5.0 or later.

Les Nombres helps you learn the most frequently used French numbers, which can be a little tricky. The app shows a random number from zero to one hundred and presents it to you, spelled out in French. You then set the number wheels at the bottom of the screen so that they represent the number that you think is shown in French. You will get audiovisual feedback if you were right.

If you want to listen to the number in French, tap the Listen button.

To make it a little more challenging, you can (starting from version 1.1) tap the spelling of the number to hide it from view. You can still listen to the pronunciation while the number text is hidden. Just tap again at the area where the number was seen, to bring the number back into view. If you get the number right using the selection wheels while the number is hidden it will be shown to you (no point in hiding it anymore!).

A tap on the Another button selects another number for your learning pleasure. You will not get the same number immediately. Our almost patentable entropic number generator will take care of that!
